BYRON GLENN RICH
A memorial service will be held for Byron Glenn Rich on Dec. 29, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in the Octagonal Barn in Hillsboro, Ore.
Mr. Rich came into this world on Friday, June 13, 1986, the second born to George and Rosalie Rich. He always bragged about being born on Friday the 13th, and 13 being his lucky number.
He spent his early years growing up in Aloha, Ore., and with most of his later years in Hillsboro, Ore. He attended Jackson School Elementary, followed by Pointer Middle School where his passion for reading developed, books by authors Dale Brown, Tom Clancy, Harry Potter series, and many other books of fiction. He attended Glencoe High School and graduated in June 2004 with a Mescot CAM.
During high school, he also developed a love of automotive classes at the Capitol Center and various shop classes (both wood and metal shop). He also stayed involved with the Capitol Center Automotive program even after high school graduation.
He had many hobbies such as computer games (PC, XBOX, and Playstation and others), but of late his main computer game was playing "World of Warcraft," on-line with many of his good friends.
Mr. Rich also enjoyed riding ATVs at the sand dunes with family and friends and driving his 1996 Tacoma Pickup truck on narrow back country winding roads. He also loved the family pets which were made up of dogs and cats.
Many times it was difficult for him to make friends, but once you became a friend of his he was loyal and always willing to help when possible, including jobs like landscaping and other odd jobs for family and friends.
Mr. Rich is survived by his parents George and Rosalie Rich; brothers Geoffrey and Allen Rich; grandmother Else Rich from Las Vegas, Nev.; uncles Joe Rich from Las Vegas, Nev., and Kelvin Schmid, Trout Lake; aunt Margaret Freeman.
He was proceeded in death by grandparents Kenneth and Marian Schmid, uncle Jerry Schmid, and grandfather Ben Rich.

VERA EVANS
Vera Belle (Farley) Evans, 93, long time resident of White Salmon, died in her home on Dec. 17, 2008. She was born on Jan. 9, 1915, in Dierks, Ark., to Josie Lee Powell and John Thomas Farley.
She married Herman Evans on Sept. 22, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Evans.
Mrs. Evans is survived by four children Jackie Moore, White Salmon, Judy Colvin, Dallesport, Barbara VanDeBrake, Brush Prairie, and Thomas Evans of Arlington, Ore.; and nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Jan. 10, 2009, at 11 a.m.
