Breanne Rowley (HRV '07) is making the most of her senior campaign with the William Penn Lady Statesmen.
The senior infielder has hit a team-leading six home runs so far this season.
In her team's MidWest Collegiate Conference opener against Mount Mercy, Rowley launched a home run for the only run of the game to get William Penn a win over Mount Mercy.
Last week Rowley went yard in both games of a doubleheader against Ashford, hitting a three run bomb in the first game and a solo shot in the second.
Rowley is hitting .333 so far this season with six doubles and 20 RBI to go along with her six round-trippers.
In a story that managed to go under my radar, former HRV soccer player Matt Dallman is back in the states after playing in Germany for several years. For the past few months he has been a trialist with Chivas USA of MLS.
He played in a few reserve and exhibition matches was sidelined with a hamstring injury as of last week.
If there is a team where Dallman could find his domestic breakthrough, the Goats would be it. The team is expected to finish near the bottom of the league this year and badly needs defensive help.
Dallman, a defender with international experience, could provide that.
A couple of former Eagles, Rachael Mallon (HRV '08) and Nick Delgado (HRV '10) will be kicking off the collegiate rowing season in a few weeks, with Mallon rowing for University of Puget Sound and Delgado for University of San Diego.
In lacrosse news, there are quite a few graduates of HRV playing at the collegiate level.
Former HRV goalkeeper Dustyn Lyons (HRV '09) is playing for Limestone College in South Carolina this season. He is currently serving as the team's back-up goalie and has four saves in five games.
Morgan Nance (HRV '10) is playing for Colorado Mesa University again this year. She currently has one goal on the season, scored in a 16-9 win over Adams State College.
Got an update from Julie Bohince on her son Jacob. I wondered why I hadn't seen him in recent lacrosse statistics from Western Oregon. He suffered a shoulder injury over the winter and will not be in action this spring.
Finally, for your trivia. Who holds the record for highest points per game career average in NCAA men's lacrosse?
A: Tony Asterino, who averaged 6.47 points per game over a 47-game career for Drexel from 1978-81.
