Bridgeport Lending Inc., one of the Northwest’s largest mortgage brokerage firms, has opened a new franchise in the Gorge.
Chris Wofford and Greg Skwarczynski have partnered in the new franchise and will serve as loan officers as well.
Bridgeport Lending Inc., headquartered in Vancouver, Wash., funds approximately $20 million worth of mortgages a month in the Northwest with roughly $1 million in the Gorge.
“Our goal is to double local funding this year with the addition of our local presence,” Wofford said. He’s worked in Vancouver during the past year while living in Hood River.
The local office is located at 111 Third St. on the second floor in downtown Hood River. Call 387-2117 for more information.
Wofford and Skwarczynski partnered in the new venture after years of serving the area in other businesses.
Skwarczynski is also part owner of two Hood River restaurants: The Mes-quitery and the The Shed located on The Heights, and Egg Harbor Café on the corner of 13th and Oak Street.
Wofford spent eight years running various operations for Thomas Motors family of dealerships and Griffith Motors, including an online sales initiative that was later adopted by Toyota Motor Sales USA.
Both are excited to bring competition to a growing market.
“There’s not much we can’t do lending-wise,” Wofford said. “We are an approved lender for more than 100 banks and finance companies in the U.S. It‘s just a matter of matching the right loan programs with the borrower’s profile.”
“We are committed to competitive pricing and modest fees,” Skwarczynski said. “This will only benefit our great community.”
