The Dalles City Council on Jan. 27 approved additional repair of the city’s Sorosis water reservoir to address issues discovered as contractors worked to clean and paint the interior of the three-million-gallon tank, located on the hill above Sorosis Park.
Zayo Group, a communications infrastructure provider, has inked a 10-year deal with the city of The Dalles to “construct, operate, and maintain a fiber-based service facility.”
Since buying the former Bob Stone Subaru auto dealership in December of 2014, new owner Tonkin Auto Group has become known as the place to go in The Dalles to purchase one of the popular Subarus. The city of Bingen saw some changes toward the end of this year in terms of what’s offered in town for quick bites with the closure of two burger joints. Killer Burger, which was located downtown between Growlerz and an Insitu space, and McDonald’s, at 910 W Steuben St., closed their Bingen location doors for good Nov. 30.
The White Salmon City Council voted 4-0 on Nov. 6 to approve an ordinance granting an exclusive organics recycling franchise to Dirt Hugger, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company that is authorized to conduct business in Washington, for the purpose of providing compost collection and processing to city residents on a fee-for-service basis.
