Cristy Barsky of Hood River Billiards racked up plenty of support last week for a new mammography machine at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital by taking $5 chess and billiards challenges at the County Fair.

Barsky raised $152.50 (50 percent of total) for the new equipment after taking on 57 challengers in 8- and 9-ball, and four chess challengers over four days. She won 47 of the pool challenges and went undefeated in chess.
