Three players scored in double figures last Saturday as Klickitat won the girls consolation game of the Ranger Invitational Basketball Tournament in Dufur, Ore.
Aryn Davis scored 14 points to take game honors, Sherri Brewer had 12 and Melissa Huwe added 11 as Klickitat defeated Echo, Ore., 47-27.
Klickitat, which improved to 3-2 in December games, set the tone for the outcome in the first quarter, winning it, 16-6.
Echo won the second quarter, 10-8, to pull within 24-16 at the break but couldn't solve Klickitat's defense in the second half.
The Vandals held the Cougars to 11 second-half points and netted 23 at their own offensive end to win going away.
Dufur 49, Klickitat 28 --
The host Rangers limited the Vandals to 17 points through the last three quarters last Friday in winning the tournament semifinal game.
Klickitat matched Dufur, point for point, in the first quarter, which ended in an 11-11 tie.
But it was all Dufur after that as the Rangers, led by Kayla Kilby and Erica, outscored the Vandals, 16-8, in the second quarter to stake themselves to a 27-19 advantage.
A nine-point second half did in Klickitat, which was led by Aryn Davis' 15 points and Melissa Huwe's eight rebounds.
Kilby led all scorers with 18 points and Miller added 16 for the Rangers.
Sunnyside Christian 80, at Lyle 24 --
The Knights made 31-of-56 shots from the floor during last Saturday's Greater Columbia B League matchup with the Cougars.
Sunnyside started hot, hitting nine of its first 11 shots en route to a 27-10 lead at the end of one quarter.
Tori Van Wingerden scored 19 points for the Knights (1-0, 5-1), who also got 18 points from Emily Hernandez and 15 from Brittany den Hoed.
Junior Joelle Jackson led the way for Lyle with eight points and seven rebounds. Junior Jessica Struck added seven points and six rebounds.
Freshman Kristen Stanovich also had a strong game for the Cougars (0-1, 1-4). She came off the bench to collect four of her career-best six rebounds on the offensive end.
Lyle at Bickleton --
The final half-minute of last Friday's GCB game between the Cougars and the Pirates will be played on a date to be named later.
Cougars Coach Chris Barthlow said Bickleton's gym lost electrical service with just under 30 seconds to play; the game was suspended 20 minutes later because power could not be restored.
