A Greater Columbia B League victory over Sunnyside Christian last Friday would have vaulted Trout Lake/Glenwood back into the league's playoff mix.
But the visiting Knights outscored the Mustangs, 2-0, in the second half to win the boys soccer match, 3-1, and move two games up on TLG in the battle the league's third playoff spot.
Sunnyside Christian (2-3, 7-5) made the score 1-0 in the 21st minute of play, with Brennan Swofford scoring off a corner kick by Joel Koopmans.
TLG (0-5, 0-12-2) evened the match at a goal apiece 19 minutes later, however, when Donovan Woodruff settled the ball after a skirmish near the top of the goal box and put a shot into an empty goal.
The score remained 1-1 until the 52nd minute, when Aaron Van de Graaf scored off a corner kick by Swofford.
Swofford added an insurance goal to the Knights' total in the 65th minute, netting his second goal of the day off a feed from Luke Meininger.
Each team applied ample pressure (a combined 32 shots, 17 by SX, 15 by TLG) throughout the match, however, as goalkeepers for both teams combined for 28 saves: 14 by TLG keeper Mike Paxson and 10 and four respectively for SC's Cole Van de Graaf and Aaron Van de Graaf.

GCB front-runner Moses Lake Christian remained unbeaten in league play, posting a 3-0 win over visiting Riverside Christian of Yakima.
Unbeaten Moses Lake raised its league mark to 5-0 and dropped Riverside to 3-2.
