A 21-point fourth quarter lifted Lyle over Bickleton, 49-35, in Greater Columbia B League boys basketball action last Saturday in Lyle.
Senior Tyler Austin, who had a game-high 22 points, scored half his total in the final frame, which the Cougars entered trailing 31-28.
But the fourth belonged to Lyle as Austin took over the game. He hit two 3-pointers, a pair of 2's and a free throw for 11 points in the runaway quarter.
Austin also had a team-best 10 rebounds and six steals in Lyle's fourth league win.
He was joined in double figures by senior Tyler Essex, who finished with 12 points and two blocked shots. Classmate Matthew Palmer dealt three assists.
For Bickleton, Nick Bryan was the top gun with 18 points.
Team totals for the game were: Lyle -- 27 rebounds, 9 steals, 18 assists, 8 blocks and 11 turnovers; Bickleton -- 31 rebounds, 4 steals, 10 assists, 2 blocks and 18 turnovers.
At Stevenson 69, Klickitat 48 --
The Bulldogs put last Saturday's non-league encounter out of reach in the middle quarters, outscoring the Vandals 42-20.
Freshmanmore J.J. Keys led Klickitat in scoring with 12 points.
Seniors Jeremy Quantrell and Chris Groves added nine and eight points respectively.
Stevenson, led by Jared Sams' 18 points, outscored Klickitat 15-5 from the foul line and 54-43 from the floor.
At Lyle 55, Trout Lake 41 --
The Mustangs won the rebound battle last Friday, but they lost the GCB game as the Cougars' Tyler Austin and Tyler Essex combined for 39 points and 12 boards.
Austin had 24 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Essex tallied 15 points, six rebounds and four blocks in Lyle's third league victory.
In addition, Jesse Spalding provided three steals, and Jim Bodolay and Justin Carlson furnished four assists each.
Junior Mike Hansen netted a team-leading 11 points for Trout Lake, which trailed at the end of every quarter.
After the first quarter, the Cougars held a 9-3 edge. By halftime, their lead had grown to 10. The score after three stood at 38-26.
Both teams may have produced more points if not for off-nights from the foul line. For the game they were a combined 20 for 51.
Trout Lake made just 13 of 33, while Lyle sank 7 of 18.
At Bickleton 55, Klickitat 53 --
The Pirates scored the final three points of last Friday's league contest to claim victory over the Vandals.
J.J. Keys took game scoring honors, tossing in four of his team's six 3-pointers on his way to 22 points.
Freshman Travis Cleveland scored 12 points, netting four field goals and 4-of-4 free throws. Seniors Adam Bauer and Tyler Schultz each had eight points.
Bickleton had three players in double figures, led by Dee Mains' 16 points.
The game was close throughout, with Klickitat leading 16-13 after one quarter and 26-21 at the half.
Bickleton pulled even at 39 at the end of the third quarter to set up a fourth-quarter showdown.
In the final issue, the Pirates' victory was attributable to their 15-9 scoring margin from the foul line.
