Klickitat and Skamania counties provide a wealth of endless edible bounty from huckleberries and morels, to pears and produce, salmon to natural beef, handmade cheeses to wildflower honey.
The public will be able to taste it all -- in a variety of dishes prepared by local chefs -- at the Skyline Foundation's first event called Cultivate Klickitat: A Celebration of Local Bounty.
The event will be held at Skyline Hospital in what is to be a future cafeteria and community meeting space.
In fact, Skyline Foundation is directing all funds from Cultivate Klickitat to go toward creating what is bound to be this area's newest, most stunning community space with its unparalleled view of the Gorge.
Skyline's unfinished lower-level will sparkle with over a dozen tables stationed by regional chefs serving up fresh delicacies, brewers and vintners pouring their favorite bottlings, wrapped by art from Ardis DeFreece and backed by music by pianist Judy Skelton.
There will also be a live auction, and you'll be able to hedge your bets on some special bottlings from the wall-of-wine.
For more information or to make a reservation ($50 per person) for this special benefit, call Skyline Foundation at 509-637-2602 or visit them online at www.skylinefoundation.org.
