Dominic and Veronica McMahon were married on July 31, 1948, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, N.D.

The couple moved to White Salmon that same year. Mr. McMahon worked in the woods, at lumber mills and as a driller and powderman at various sites in Washington and Oregon.
