Share this article paywall-free Email Copy Link Columbia High lost Trico Division softball double-headers last week to two of the league's better teams.The Bruins were shut out twice at Ridgefield on April 19, 24-0 and 20-0. Both games ended after five innings under the 10-run rule.Ericka Ziegler was the losing pitcher in the opener, and Jennifer Bryan took the loss in the nightcap. CHS pitchers allowed 18 hits in both games.The Bruins had one hit in each contest. Dani Gilderhus went 1 for 2 in the first game, and Bryan was 1 for 2 in the second.Columbia absorbed 12-1 and 11-1 defeats by Woodland here last Friday to remain winless on the season.Bryan was the losing pitcher in both games.Ziegler was the top hitter for the Bruins. She went 2 for 5 overall with a double and one run batted in. Lacey Griffiths also got credit for an RBI.
