CAST's current production Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, will be held on Sept. 26 and 27 and Oct. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on Sept. 28.
The Cherry Orchard is Chekhov's last play, considered by many to be his greatest. In this fascinating, insightful story, we encounter the members of a once-grand family.
Proud of its heritage, but unable to pay the mortgage, the family is about to lose its estate, including their beloved cherry orchard, to developers. They remain passive despite the attempts of a former serf to penetrate their indecision, and the sun sets as it must on a lost way of life and a vanished era.
Richard Parker directs the large company of familiar CAST actors, which includes Mary Fassel, Greg Gilbertson, Ken McCarty, Katy Dutra, Jeanette Burkhardt, Jonpaul McLellan, Judy Yeo, Bev Arthur, Tom Penchoen, Mary Zenorini, and Brian Halbert.
Tickets are available at Waucoma Bookstore, Collage of the Gorge and Klindt's, at a $10 advance price. They will also be available at the door prior to performances for $12.
