Students who are currently sixth, seventh and eighth graders residing in the Stevenson-Carson School District boundaries can join their friends this summer in the 21st Century-Bridges Summer Program.
This four-day-a-week program will include field trips, activities that focus on reading and math enrichment, healthy snacks and transportation to and from Wind River Middle School -- all at no cost to the student.
The 21st Century-Bridges Summer Program is part of a five-year grant administered by Educational Service District (ESD) #112 in partnership with the Stevenson-Carson School District.
The program has been in place for a year and has operated during the school year in the afternoons.
The goals of the program include improving reading and math achievement, connecting community and school activities and increasing positive interactions between the students, adults and community.
The summer program operates July 6 to Aug. 11 on Monday-Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Wind River Middle School.
Transportation, supplies, and snacks are all provided by the district at no cost to students.
