An open house with demos for "Capture the Sun White Salmon 2012, will be held on Tuesday, May 1, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 341 Main Street.
Capture the Sun White Salmon 2012 is about combining the power of group purchasing with the Washington State Solar Production Incentive. It's about helping individuals make their own electricity.
There will be demos in the church parking lot, along with hot dogs and munchies.
Ray Schultens Motors will be available to talk about the all-electric Leaf.
Sharon Ohnstead with Klickitat PUD's Energy Services will be on hand to answer questions about their Net Metering policy and the Washington State Solar Incentive.
Hire Electric will be there to talk about Solarize and group buying power for solar generation.
Richard Paige of Pedal in Power Out will be there to show his electric bike conversions.
A kickoff meeting with presentations will begin at 6:30.
The Capture the Sun White Salmon Campaign will run through the end of August with another educational meeting on June 2.

Washington offers up to $.52/kWh as a production incentive for solar generation.
Solar campaigns in Portland neighborhoods, Seattle, Port Townsend and Pendleton have been very successful at helping communities go solar.
