Oregon Trail Invitational high-point awards went to age-group winners Mariah Rawding, Scott Bergstrom and Aidan Trummel last weekend, in the Hood River Valley Swim Team's final swim meet of the summer season.
Rawding, of Husum, won five swims in the girls 11-12 division and scored 55 points for the Osprey, whose 15 swimmers claimed victory in 29 events during the Aug. 10-12 meet in Pendleton, Ore.
Bergstrom, of Snowden, collected four firsts and one second in five boys 11-12 swims that earned 53 points. Teammate Connor Webb of Hood River was runner-up to Bergstrom with 49 points.
Trummel, White Salmon, won one event but netted 43 points overall in the boys 8-and-under class by finishing in the top four in four other swims.
Other high-point winners for HRVST were Axel Cox, boys 13-14, 53 points; Dhani Freeland, girls 8-and-under, 55; and Kylie Webb, girls 9-10, 55.
Coming Up:
The Hood River Valley Swim Team is taking a break from competition. Opsrey Coach Shelly Rawding said the team will get back in the pool in late September to begin training for its winter season.
