Lyle senior pitcher Mitzi McMurrin captured the Greater Columbia B League's softball player of the year award in balloting by the league's coaches.

McMurrin, a four-year starter for the Cougars and an all-state selection in 2003, was one of three Lyle players named to the 2004 GCB All-Opponents Team.
