The Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association's third and final swap meet of the season is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the paved lot west of the Hood River Expo Center building.
Take I-84 to Hood River Exit 63 and head toward the Columbia River. The Expo Center is west of the Hood River Event Site on Portway Avenue.
The meet -- a fundraiser for CGWA -- is for recreational gear such as windsurfing, kayaking or kiteboarding equipment, or other gear related to outdoor recreation. Space is on a first-come, first-served basis; reservations won't be taken.
Sellers may set up as early as 7 a.m. to get the best location and need to remember that if they pack it in, they will need to pack it out.
The swap meet is open to everyone, and there's no admission charge for buyers. Sellers, however, must pay a $10 space rental fee.
This is a great opportunity to buy equipment to get into a new sport economically. It's also a terrific chance to unload all that gear you've outgrown that's taking up space in your garage and make some cash to buy the latest.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to CGWA's access program, which includes site maintenance, site improvements and new projects.
The Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation with membership open to anyone who windsurfs, supports windsurfing or wants improved recreational access to the Columbia River.
