The Wellenbrock 50th Anniversary and family reunion was held in Glenwood at the school on July 5. One hundred and forty two family members came from South Carolina, California, Colorado, Texas, Oregon and Washington to attend the reunion.
Family members ranged in age from four months to 84 years.
Buttons the Clown was there to entertain the young as well as the old. Homemade ice cream was enjoyed by all. Tractor rides were enjoyed by family members. Movies from past reunions were also shown.
Friday evening, wienies were roasted at Yedlick campgrounds. Sunday morning, 70 family members turned out for breakfast before returning home.
Next year's reunion will be held in Zillah, on July 3, 2004.
The high school girls' basketball team traveled to Medical Lake over the July 4th weekend. The girls participated in the Cardinal Classic Basketball Tournament. The team and coaches Dan Smith and Jessica Pooler would like to thank all the parents for their help and support.
Congratulations to Sarah (Humphrey) and Aaron Vorhis on their marriage July 12.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held this Saturday, July 19, starting at 8:30 a.m. through 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 20. Jan Gimlin is the team captain for the Hood River Branch of Columbia River Bank's team and still has open spots for people to walk. If interested contact Jan at 541-387-3445 during business hours.
