Farmers’ Market Requests, Pool Design Contract Gain WS Council Authorization

The White Salmon Farmers’ market opens for the 2018 season on Tuesday, June 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Rhinegarten Park. The opening day celebration will feature the festive live music of Samba Hood Rio and hot food will be available from Big Man’s Rotisserie. Market shoppers can expect to find a wide variety of local food, including fresh produce and sustainably raised local meat. The Power of Produce (POP) program is available to youth and seniors. POP awards a bonus $2 market token to the first 20 kids to the market, and a $4 token to the first 10 seniors to the market. Plus, June 19 is “School Employee Appreciation Day!” The market would like to thank the hard-working educators and administrators by offering a $5 token to the first 30 school employees at the market. All of these food access programs are made possible through the support of local business sponsorships.

One of the highlights of the White Salmon City Council meeting on June 6 was a presentation on the White Salmon Farmers’ Market, which will open for the season in Rhinegarten Park on June 19.

This year will be the Farmers’ Market’s seventh year and the second in the city park.
