Planting Wheat

DIRECT SEEDING of winter wheat on the Rich Kortge farm in Columbia District just east of The Dalles was undertaken under marginal conditions in late September and early October when continuing dry weather made the ground more impermeable. Fall rains are softening up the soil so seeds can sprout and begin to grow for the 2015 crop.
