As a fabricator and repair shop for major industries within a 100-mile radius, by all accounts business is strong in the Mid-Columbia, said owner Jon Keyser.

New housing construction, wind turbines, manufacturers, repairs and residential upgrades, have steel bending and metal melting.
Cash from large capital improvements in the area are trickling into smaller businesses and in turn locals are flush for doing, for example, a custom welded gate.
“When the economy is good, it reflects right down to residential projects,” he said.
Jolly Julibation
Put a fresh press on your Santa suit because Dancer and Prancer are thirsty.
SantaCon is back, said Bunny Henningsen with Main Street The Dalles. Set for Friday, Dec. 13, the public is invited to put on their best Christmas outfit and take a tour of downtown pubs in a magical suds-infused flight. Bring food donations for the Columbia Gorge Food Bank.
“You get together with friends and party in Santa’s Spirit,” said Henningsen. “Grab your Santa sack and fill it with goodies for the food bank.”
