Estacada hosted The Dalles and Crook County in a Tri-Valley Conference track and field meet April 17, when the Riverhawks interrupted a week of training to work off some competitive juices.
The result was more than 50 personal bests from the Riverhawks.
Freshman David McCracken continued to lower his 200-meter time, winning that race in 23.72 seconds. Earlier in the meet, McCracken was second in the 100 (11.59) after teaming with Anthony Jara, Derek Goulart, and River McClure to win the 4x100 relay in 45.72.
Another freshman, Tyler Irving, won the 110 hurdles in a personal best 17.87 seconds. He was part of The Dalles’ 4x400 relay of Tyson Long, Noah Preston, and Vincent Ziegenhagen, which won in 3:46.91. Long won the 1500 (4:31.19), Preston won the 400 (54.42), and Ziegenhagen was second to teammate McClure in the 300 hurdles (44.8 to 45.37). Preston added a win in the high jump (5-6).
In the horizontal jumps, Egan Ziegenhagen won the long jump at a PR 18-8, and London Leitz was second in the triple jump (35-3.5).
On the girls side, frosh Ebany Mondragon bounded to a personal best 28-5 in the triple jump and also PR’d in the 200. There were plenty more personal records, including four in the girls long jump. Senior Madelyn Harrison won the event at 15-10.5, but teammates Lilyana Gonzalez, Alondra Romero and Lillen Vaught each leapt over 14 feet.
Also in the field, Rowena Banjamin won the pole vault in a personal-record 8 feet; and Kestley Hodges threw a PR 92-7 in the javelin.
On the track, Harrison and Benjamin went 1-2 in the 300 hurdles, while Benjamin won the 100 hurdles at 18 seconds. Alaina Casady and Abigail Pope went 1-2 in the 1500, with Pope’s time of 5:33.8 a personal best. Casady also won the 800 and Pope was third in a PR 2:44.03.
