Rough night for the eagles

Head Coach Erich Harjo, Duffy, and Cameron have a conference on the mound.

The HRV baseball team suffered its worst loss of the season Tuesday night, falling 9-1 to Hermiston. It was the fewest runs scored by the Eagles this season and the second most runs given up by the team. HRV (15-4, 5-1 league) had only three hits (Adam Cameron, single; Montana Kurahara, single; Patrick Harvey, RBI triple) and cycled through as many pitchers on the mound as Hermiston (10-8, 3-3 league) had some big hits and capitalized on defensive miscues by the Eagles, particularly in the third inning when the Bulldogs scored six runs. Kellan Duffy, Isaiah Enriquez, and Chase Lariza all spent time on the rubber for the Eagles; Duffy struck out one and gave up five hits and seven earned runs in a little more than two innings; Enriquez struck out two and surrendered a hit and two earned runs in the same amount of time; while Lariza finished the game out with three K’s and no hits or runs. HRV looked to rebound with a home doubleheader against The Dalles Friday at 5 p.m. (results not available at press time) then head to The Dalles Tuesday for a game that starts at 4:30.
