HRV volleyball heads to state quarterfinals

HRV volleyball didn’t make it easy on themselves last Saturday in their first round playoff game as they had to climb back from being down early in each set against Wilsonville. HRV would eventually figure it out and win in three sets. (Left) Katie Kennedy had 11 kills against Wilsonville. Next up for HRV is a rematch against Summit from last year’s 4th/6th place playoff game, which HRV lost 3-0. This year, Summit finished 20-6 overall and they’re the number one seed in the OSAA tournament. The Eagles on Friday, Nov. 3 look to knock off Summit and advance to the semifinals.

The Hood River Valley Eagles volleyball team this past Saturday punched their ticket to the state playoff quarterfinals after their sweep against a tough and young Wilsonville team that gave the Eagles all they could handle.

“It was far from a typical sweep, with the only difference in the match being a little luck, more experience, and a whole lot of grit,” said Head Coach Scott Walker.
