Hood River Valley boys, Wilsonville play to 0-0 soccer draw

THE GORGE — Hood River Valley’s boys soccer team is in the throes of its Northwest Oregon Conference schedule, and the next few weeks should show how much Coach Alvaro Lara’s tough nonleague matches prepared the Eagles for another 5A state playoff run.

Hood River (3-4-2 overall, 1-0-1 NWOC) and Wilsonville played to a 0-0 draw Sept. 30, leaving the teams in third and fourth place of the conference standings. La Salle Prep (3-0, 7-1-1) and Centennial (3-0, 7-2) are tied for first in the NWOC.

The next few matches between the league leaders are key ones. Hood River Valley is scheduled to host La Salle on Oct. 8 (7 p.m. at Henderson Stadium) and will play at Centennial in Gresham on Oct. 14. La Salle plays at Wilsonville on Oct. 16.
