The Dirty Harlots Mountain Bike Race team is an all women competitive team based in Hood River. The team is made up of eight local women, ranging in age from 25 to 44, whose primary focus is to promote women’s mountain biking and trail maintenance in Hood River, and to race in the five-race Oregon Enduro Series.
This year team members have also ventured south to California, for the Sea Otter Classic and Downieville All-Mountain Classic, and north to support the first all-women’s Enduro race held in Capital Forest.
The final race to wrap up the Oregon Enduro Series Race is scheduled for Sept. 27-28 at Sandy Ridge, Timberline and Ski Bowl. Thus far in the series the Dirty Harlots have had another stellar year, with new riders bringing added talent.
Currently in the series standings Kim Becker, a recent addition to the Harlots, is in first place in the Pro Women category, with a 1st place finish at Cold Creek (Camas), a 3rd place finish at Bend and a 4th place finish at Ashland (after a mechanical issue forced her to run down some of the course).
In the Expert Women category Nikki Hollatz, another new rider to the team, is currently in second place overall after finishing 4th in the Hood River Super-D, 2nd at Bend, 3rd at Camas and 3rd at Ashland. Closely following her in the overall expert category are returning team members Stephanie Armesto and Patricia Lenz.
In the Sport Women Category 34-and-under another new Harlot, Jaimie Didier, is in 2nd place in the series overall and Heather Pola is in 3rd overall in the Sport Women 35+ category.
