THE GORGE — The next few matches will be telling in Big Sky League volleyball, as the conference’s top four teams — all unbeaten in league play through Sept. 22 — will be facing each other starting Sept. 23. South Wasco (10-4 overall, 3-0 Big Sky) will host Ione/Arlington (11-3, 4-0) on the 23rd, and the Redsides will host Sherman (9-2, 3-0) on Sept. 25. On Sept. 30, South Wasco — which is riding a four-match win streak — will travel to Dufur to play the Rangers (4-2, 3-0). Dufur plays at Sherman on Oct. 2. The top six Big Sky teams qualify for the district playoffs in October.
