Regional group says 'Thank you' with cookies

The Dalles Chamber delivered thank you cookies to several businesses in The Dalles last week and during the month of October as recognition for all the businesses do for visitors in our town, part of the Hood-Gorge Regional Tourism’s thank you project to show appreciation for those businesses who help serve an important part of the tourism industry in their communities during and post pandemic.

Historic photos and family stories featuring a nearby Japanese farming settlement in the early 20th century will be featured Saturday, March 9. The rescheduled Regional History Forum program takes place at the Original Wasco County Courthouse, 410 W. 2nd Place, The Dalles.

‘Christmas Bags’ to help homeless

With Christmas just over a week away, The Dalles Community Meal organization is preparing for the numerous meals it serves over the holiday weeks. One board member, Klea Espy, is also busy with a separate task: collecting donations, buying supplies and preparing 50 large paper bags for the homeless, filled with clothes, linens, toiletries and food.
