One of my first and favorite memories about moving from Colorado to the gorge in the past year, was going to several Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts shows, especially in some of the beautiful parks in the area.
I was excited to go again on October 17th to support the National Guard.
It wasn’t until I read about one of the raffle prizes that I stopped all thoughts of attending, and I doubt I am the only one that feels this way. With the feelings of Roseburg still fresh in our minds, and for me living only miles from both Aurora, Colo., and Columbine High School, all I can say is “what are you thinking?”
Hey, the marble top table is a gorgeous prize, and with the name of the event being, “Guards, guns and guitars” how about a nice guitar as one of the raffled prizes?
So here is the real question. What person in the area needs a custom AR-15 rifle? And for what? Too many deer in the area?
There had to be a better prize to show respect for our military.
Without going into politics or any other personal agenda, I just want to say poor choice, and you have lost my four ticket sales also.
Hopefully, an 18-year-old that just graduated from high school with a history of issues doesn’t win. He could be better off with the guitar. But maybe, that’s just my train of thought.
