Letter to the editor: Sad downtown

Wasn’t this supposed to happen when Wal-Mart gets built on the edge of town? Actually, the reverse is happening. Wal-Mart would create jobs, competition and draw people and business to our town.

Instead, our “Citizens for Responsible Development” favor tadpoles over people and jobs. These are the folks that call themselves “progressives.” I would bet these are the same individuals that favor socialized medicine and socialistic government. I would bet these people favor wolves over livestock, deer and elk.

In case they do not realize it, livestock, deer and elk also provide jobs. I think the group should be renamed “progressives against progress.”

When you really stop and think, isn’t that kind of sad? I think a better word is “ridiculous.”
