To the editor:
Considering the condition of our local government, even our state, national and international problems all needing attention, I could write a letter every day about all the wrongs.
To the editor:
Considering the condition of our local government, even our state, national and international problems all needing attention, I could write a letter every day about all the wrongs.
However, a letter to the editor the other day might seem trivial in the world of wrong ideas but it’s a place to start.
Did we all know that farmers lose most of their livestock to disease and road kill? Only around 1 percent are lost to wolves. So, what’s the problem?
Farmers do all they can to prevent disease and road kill, but the law says we have to put up with wolves; besides, farmers get paid when the wolf kills their livestock. I think most farmers think the compensation is not nearly enough. So, let’s put this in terms maybe more people can understand.
You know, we people do everything we can to prevent cancer and heart disease but it still kills way too many of us.
We keep making safer cars and roads but I think road kill does the most people in by percentage.
Now terrorists around the world, I bet they are responsible for way less than 1 percent of those who die every year.
Do you feel better about terrorists now? So, what’s the problem? I’ll bet those who’ve had first-hand experience know.
Imagine how they feel when they see someone with a large knife or an AK-47 and wearing a black hood.
How do you suppose the rest of the cows in the herd feel after watching one of theirs get ripped apart by wolves?
Trust me, I’ve seen it, even cows have feelings.
It’s a great analogy, a wolf attacking a herd is little different than a terrorist attacking a ball game, other than the species slain.
Is it really worth the real cost?
