Letter to the editor: Irresponsible act

When you acquire a pet, you are responsible for it. Pets give their love and trust without reserve. They deserve more than what you gave this cat.

If something happens and your pet needs re-homed, you need to be responsible and look for someone to take over the animal’s care.

Advertise for a new home and carefully screen anyone interested.

Contact the local humane society and get phone numbers for local cat rescues (there are at least three in this area).

The poor animal was probably scared out of its wits being thrown from a car, then having another car stop and try to rescue it.

Hopefully, someone did rescue it before it was hit by a car or starved to death. We don’t need it to become feral.

Did I mention that being responsible for your pets is to have them spayed or neutered?

Again, if you acquire a pet, be responsible for it. Every pet deserves a loving home but not everyone deserves a pet.
