Letter to the Editor: Greater than the sum

If you want to know somebody, ask them to help you. If they help, you will do something larger than the both of you. You may even develop an understanding in a group that may not need words, but is the action necessary and lifts each other up swiftly and without waiver.

Relentlessly pushing on toward better. You may find yourself hours and even years later, wondering where the time went. When you are engaged, when the rubber is meeting the road, you are in flow. Time stops. And meaning is abundant. No starting, no stopping, but in a current that takes and makes you part of the bigger picture… the solution. Actions turn to history and become monuments in your life. Places you have staked with the sweat of others. These gatherings, footholds in life’s climb, make a family and a rock from which to stand. And from it comes a culture, a tribe and a place of unfettered satisfaction.

These places exist and await you. Just ask somebody to give you a hand. Our many thanks to the Riverside Gymnastics Academy family of volunteers and sponsors, which recently hosted 220 athletes at the Oregon Trail Invitational gymnastics meet on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
