As many businesses in The Dalles engage in the happy challenge of decorating for the Christmas holiday — stringing lights, creating window displays, hanging snowflakes —Sunshine Mill Winery at the east end of downtown faces a unique challenge: How do you effectively decorate a massive, historic industrial monument dominating the east end of the downtown core?

To the editor: Open letter to the owner of the old Sunshine Mill. You painted the long building black with a red roof. Very nice. As a member of this community since 1942 I am always interested (and aware) of how people take care of their property. Thank you, the building looks great (the orange door doesn’t go with the red and black but hopefully it will get painted also). However (isn’t there always a however?)
