To the editor:
I'm so deeply disappointed with my country. In this holiday season with “Peace on Earth” and “Joy to the World” is just so hilariously hippocritical in regards to our murderous behavior.

I'm so deeply disappointed with my country. In this holiday season with “Peace on Earth” and “Joy to the World” is just so hilariously hippocritical in regards to our murderous behavior.
Michael Brown, Eric Gardner, Travon Martin (another USA citizen of color) gunned down and just blatantly murdered. And these are just the ones we see. Never tried, never convicted, just murdered, no grand jury indictment.
The CIA torturing people throughout the world, it's just not right. Incarcerating people at Guantanamo, no judge, no jury, torture. People held without a trial for 13 years. This is not what this country was founded upon.
We get our little panties in a wad when somebody on our side gets beheaded in the middle east. But we don't say much when a drone mistake kills an entire wedding party over there.
We condemn the slaughter of 145 school kids ( a heinous act without question), but every year at least that many are murdered by some whack jobs with guns in this country.
Gary Webb, a journalist from San Jose, uncovered the CIA dumping tons of cocaine in our major cities (movie “Kill the Messenger”) creating the crack cocaine epidemic in the 80’s. Causing the jailing of thousands of people, devastating the lives of people of color in cities. All this during the “Just Say No” to drugs Reagan years to fund guns in Nicaragua.
Our country kills hundreds of thousands of innocent people throughout the world (over 100,000 Iraqis, 3 million Vietnamese, etc...) and the Christians say “Peace on Earth” and “Joy to the World.”
I think it's time to talk the talk and walk the walk. If you are a true Christian, how about “Thou shall not kill” (or torture)? Maybe it’s time to have this discussion in your church about these topics? Nah, its easier to say “Peace on Earth”; it’s more catchy and easier to swallow.
Think about it, America—who are we, and why is there no justice when we murder people? We would make many more friends building schools and hospitals. This country can do so much better.
Feliz Navidad,
