UPDATED: Summit Cedar Mill fire begins with vehicle fire, has spread to engulf mill and lumberyard

Dow Road fire is under control and now in mop up.

The Summit Cedar Mill fire originally began as semi-truck that caught on fire; fire spread to engulf mill and lumberyard and has gone wildland at 134 Tidyman Road in Dallesport.

3:38 p.m. Klickitat Ops being contacted to shut down Hwy 197 near Circle T Road.

3:29 p.m. North Sherman County (Ore.) sending in a tender.

UPDATE: 3:25 p.m.

3:22 p.m. Structure fire is too difficult to put out at 100 block of Dow Road.

DALLESPORT — What began as a vehicle fire has now involved wildland on Tideman Road.

The Summit Cedar Mill fire began at 2:50 p.m. today, May 16. By 2:55 p.m., multiple vehicles were reported on fire as well. The eastbound lane of the road is blocked. Evacuations of a trailer park off Highway 97 began at 2:56 p.m.
