STEVENSON — The community is invited to come and exchange and/or pick up available seeds and plants at Stevenson Grange No. 121’s Spring Plant & Seed Swap on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. downstairs in the Stevenson Library Gallery.
Most of the plants and seeds are locally grown and harvested, and are proven producers. The Plant & Seed Swap event is held in order to boost and inspire local, alongside encouraging regional sustainability and resilience.
“This year we will also have a wide variety of native plants in one-gallon pots,” said a press release. “These plants are ready to go in the ground but will require watering during the dry summer months. Alternatively, they can be re-potted now and planted in late fall/early winter.”
The plants were donated by the Underwood Conservation District.
The Grange is also accepting donations of veggie plants for the Stevenson Community Gardens. The veggies will be planted along the garden fence and the produce will be free to the community to share.
All local producers are encouraged to bring contact information for the information table to advertise local garden and farm products, and to form a local producer network.
Patrons can bring their seeds and plants to the Library before 10 a.m., but all leftovers must be picked up at 2 p.m., unless other arrangements are made with the Grange.
This program is co-sponsored by Stevenson Grange No. 121 and the Stevenson Community Library, and is free and open to the public.
