KLICKIAT CO. — The Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington (AAADSW) announces the opening of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, which provides eligible seniors with an $80 benefit card once a year to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and honey at participating farmers markets and farm stores from June 1 through Oct. 31. Participants must apply for the program each year. Benefit cards are distributed first come, first served until they are gone. Limited quantities available.
How to qualify
• Be a resident of Klickitat County
• Be 60 years old or older (55+ for Native Americans or Alaska Natives)
• Have income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level.
• $28,953 annually or $2,413 monthly income for household of one
• $39,128 annually or $3,261 monthly income for household of two
• For larger households, add $848 for each additional person
