As I write this on Friday, June 13, the Rowena Fire is not yet contained. Over 20 homes have burned and the extent of damage and loss is yet to be determined. The West end of the Riverfront Trail was subjected to the fast moving fire and much of the landscape is literally scorched earth. Many large Locust trees and a powerline are down across the trail. With unrelenting winds, more trees may fall as fire continues to smolder within the hollowed out base of standing trees.
