Bingen-White Salmon Police, Feb. 26 - March 10
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: trespass (two), unlawful possession of a firearm (one).
Notable incidents
Two trespass arrests. In one incident, an adult was arrested for trespass and unlawful possession of a firearm in White Salmon march 6.
One non-injury vehicle crash in White Salmon.
One theft report. Tools were taken from a utility trailer in White Salmon.
A fraud reported in White Salmon had ongoing investigation.
A hazmat incident was handled by the fire department in White Salmon on March 2.
A person with traumatic injury was transported by EMS.
Hood River Police, March 3 - 9
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (three), theft (one), warrant (four).
Notable incidents
Four warrant arrests. In one incident, a Gresham, Oregon resident was lodged at NORCOR on three outstanding warrants issued by Clackamas, Lincoln and Hood River counties.
Three DUII arrests. In one incident, an adult was arrested and lodged at NORCOR on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, after showing multiple signs of impairment. The substances they were suspected of being under the influence of were seized during a search prior to arrest. The person was also discovered to have an outstanding arrest warrant issued out of Hood River County Circuit Court.
Two theft reports. Shoplifting and a backpack stolen near the bank of the Hood River.
Two stolen vehicles were recovered. Officers responded to a call of suspicious activity at an apartment complex and discovered two vehicles that were reported stolen from outside agencies. One was released to the owners, the other towed to the police department’s impound lot.
A report was generated for mislaid illicit drugs. Officers placed the drugs into evidence of destruction.
The Dalles Police, March 8 - 15
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: assault (two), felon in possession of a weapon (one), harassment (one), theft (two), trespass (three), warrant (five).
Notable incidents
Ten mental health calls.
Four stolen vehicle reports. In one incident, the registered owner of a pickup received a call from Hood River, explaining that one of their vehicles had been found there and identified as stolen. The owner, unaware it was missing, filed a report. In another incident, a Nissan Frontier was reported stolen from Sixth Street March 10. In a third, a Honda Shadow motorcycle was stolen from Snipes Street March 10, and later recovered.
An allegedly fake check, in the amount of $3,000, was reported March 8.
Twenty animal calls. Dogs at large, welfare checks on dogs, barking dogs, missing cat, missing dogs.
Seven theft reports. Shoplifting (four incidents), two RV batteries, unspecified items.
A reporting party advised they suspected a packaged someone was trying to ship out had marijuana in it. The packages were taken for evidence.
Officers responded to two unattended deaths.
A criminal mischief report was taken for approximately $3,500 in damage to a food truck on Sixth Street.
A stolen pickup was found in Skamania County, minus its plates, which were separately entered as stolen.
Three vehicle repossessions were logged.
One hit-and-run report. A young person in a black Acura hit another vehicle, then drove off. The suspect was identified and cited.
A foot pursuit took place on March 12, after an officer possibly saw a suspect enter a store. They pursued the person around back of the store, and a pursuit took place, but was terminated after the officers lost visual.
Two combatants were arrested for assault, allegedly against each other, and booked into NORCOR on that charge.
A vandalism report was taken on Sixth Street.
Wasco County Sheriff, March 8 - 15
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (one), criminal mischief (one), detainer (one), burglary (one), harassment (one), possession of fentanyl (one), possession of a stolen vehicle (one), strangulation (one), theft (one), unlawful use of motor vehicle (two), warrant (two).
Notable incidents
Ten animal calls. Deer hit by car and still alive, dead dog near Rowena Crest Viewpoint, dogs at large.
A stolen vehicle was recovered on March 9, after a witness reported a vehicle cash near Highway 30. A trailer on one of the two involved vehicles was confirmed as stolen out of Multnomah County. One involved person was lodged for possession of a stolen vehicle, and felony possession of fentanyl. The stolen trailer was secured, and the two involved vehicles towed.
Two fraud reports.
Four reports of identity theft. One was taken March 11 for a stolen T-Mobile account. The other was taken March 12 for a stolen social security number.
Someone put diesel in a tow truck, causing the engine to explode, a reporting party stated on March 11. They were unsure when the diesel was added, between Dufur and The Dalles. Cost to fix the damage was estimated between $13,000 and $20,000.
One vehicle crash report. A green Honda was reported alone, with the bumper gone and no persons around, in a ravine on Reservation Road/Paquet Gulch on March 12. The vehicle was 15 feet down, with rear axle bent up underneath; but as able to be towed. A registered owner was located in The Dalles.
One mental health call.
A possible squatter was reported in he station by fire chief Carlson on March 14. The staff had not seen a person, but did find clothing, food and paraphernalia. “It does look like they got into a supply of wildland fire fighting food/gear,” reads the log. A person was detained at gunpoint, handcuffed, and arrested for burglary, criminal mischief, theft, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Later that day, the same individual was detained for trespass and burglary on State Road.
Two theft reports. Rifle from a home on Irvine Street, gun and camera from Irvine Street in a separate incident.
A search and rescue was called for an incident near Flagpoint Lookout on March 13, after a snowmobile got stuck seven miles from Billy Bob Sno-Park. The riders hiked to a fire tower, three and a half miles from their snowmobile and Ten miles from their vehicle. They were retrieved to the Sno-Park by a search-and-rescue operation that day, under sunny skies but deep snow.
Deputies responded to a traffic crash on Eighth/Case Street March 13. The driver was taken into custody at taser point and given a court date for multiple traffic-related charges. The vehicle was towed.
Oregon State Police, March 9 - 12
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (three), reckless driving (one).
Notable incidents
The registered owner of a motorhome came to The Dalles patrol office and reported it stolen. A report was taken.
One non-injury vehicle crash. The driver of a commercial vehicle stated they fell asleep and left the roadway near milepost 109 westbound on I-84. The white commercial vehicle collided with the cable barrier and came to an uncontrolled rest on the shoulder. The vehicle was towed, and the driver received a citation.
Troopers received a call of an unreported stolen vehicle on March 13. The reporting party said they were leasing the truck, which truck was stopped repossessed. Arrangements made to drop the trailer, which wasn’t part of the lease.
