On the Agenda: April 11 edition

The board will hear reports on middle school AVID program implementation, pre-school and early childhood programs, and alcohol, tobacco and other drug use policies.

April 11 — Hood River County Transportation District board meets at 9 a.m. at the District headquarters, 224 Wasco Loop. Agenda items include a director’s report on her meeting with Insitu, and under new business, budget goals.

April 16 — The Hood River Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing beginning at 6 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioners’ conference room on the first floor of the County Business Administration Building, 601 State Street, Hood River, Oregon 97031.

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider text amendments to the Hood River County Zoning Ordinance (P-415-17-0324). The text amendments focus on: 1) Updating Article 75 (National Scenic Area) to address requirements resulting from adopted revisions to the Management Plan for the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, 2) Incorporating legislative updates as required by law, and 3) Making technical changes in order to clarify and/or improve application and administration of various land use provisions.
