Protests to continue — A small group is planning to continue political protests outside The Dalles post office, 101 W. Second St., from 4-5:30 p.m. each Friday until further notice.
Mountain patrols — Washington State Patrol will be conducting chain enforcement on or near mountain passes in Klickitat and Skamania counties. Troopers and law enforcement officers in both counties will be proactively conducting chain enforcement patrols in areas where commercial vehicles park, such as rest areas, designated chain-up areas, and safe areas along the roadway, said a press release. Passenger vehicles will also be contacted in areas where roadway restrictions are in place. Food pantry update — Wahtonka Pantry is now run by The Dalles Community Meal (TDCM). The Dalles Community Meal, known for its long history of providing hot, nourishing meals to people in need, will now shift its focus by providing food pantry services. TDCM plans to maintain the Wahtonka Pantry’s current schedule (second and fourth Thursday of each month from 4-6 p.m.), ensuring continuity for those who rely on the pantry’s resources.
