HOOD RIVER — It’s been years in the making, but the Sunshine Club’s new bus finally arrived Aug. 30.

The inaugural field trip in the Sunshine Club's new bus was to Bette’s Place in downtown Hood River (pictured above), and then to the waterfront to watch windsurfers and Panorama Point.

Sunshine Club

Sunshine Club has taken several field trips since getting the van on Aug. 30, including a stop at Program Manager Tonya DeHart’s son’s farm. Sunshine Club is a resource for local families living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Monday through Thursday, day groups provide a respite for part-time and full-time caregivers while their loved ones participate in a variety of activities in a safe environment.
