Rev. Barbara Prose
Mid-Columbia Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The Mid-Columbia UU Fellowship — whose motto is “Open Minds, Loving Hearts and Helping Hands” — has served Klickitat, Skamania, Wasco and Hood River counties for 40 years. Members are active in all areas of community life including social welfare, the arts, justice, education, politics and the environment.
Upon accepting the position, Prose said, “… Life is full of surprises and my new life here in the Gorge is a most delightful one. That there would be a UU congregation, looking for a minister, in the town where I landed, might even qualify as a miracle ….”
After receiving her Master of Divinity degree from Bangor Theological Seminary in 2009, Prose served the All Souls Unitarian Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma, from 2010-2023. As the executive minister of this 2,000 member congregation (one of the largest UU churches in the U.S.), she led a staff of 20 or more.
Prose has also served this past year as executive director of the Portland-based Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice (IMIrJ).
The MCUUF Board of Trustees is delighted to support Prose as she continues to lead IMIrJ’s vital programs and as she begins her ministry here in the Columbia Gorge.
