HRV Speech and Debate going to districts

HOOD RIVER — The Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team continues to score well in their tournaments in the lead up to Districts. At the Singletary Speech and Debate Tournament at Linfield University, they took Second place against 27 schools. Seniors Bee Carsley and Adrianna Brink got First Place in Duo Interpretation, Carsley also got First in Poetry and Second in Humorous Interpretation, and Noah Trujillo, a junior got First in Novice Radio.

The rest of the team also scored highly, with three thirds, another second, and several finalists over the two-day competition.

This win is on the heels of another resounding success at the Lewis & Clark College Jean Ward Invitational Tournament against 50 schools. Carsley especially was recognized with top speaker at the tournament against 871 competitors.
