Hood River Farmers’ Market offers local produce, more

Lynn Lewis, of Crisp and Tart, displays her hand painted, 100 percent cotton kitchen towels at a recent Saturday market.

Hood River Farmers’ Market is in full swing with a wide variety of vendors, live music, market activities and an all-new beer garden. Visit the market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Fifth and Columbia. Customers enjoy free parking in the lot west of the market, provided by Gorge Grown Food Network, as well as down Wasco Street and west of Seventh Street.

The diversity found at the market makes it easy to stock up and eat local every day of the week. Market goers can find a variety of vendors, offering farm fresh produce — everything from arugula to zucchini plus local fruit like blueberries, blackberries, cherries, peaches, figs and more — to an array of local fish and meats — salmon, lamb, grass fed beef, pasture raised pork and farm fresh eggs. Find locally made cheese, sourdough bread, granola, sauerkrauts, kombucha, honey, black garlic, and gluten free bakery items.
