Radine Noji was born on Sept. 21, 1947, in Hood River, Oregon, and grew up on the family orchard in Parkdale. As the oldest sibling, she was known for her strong character and adventurous spirit. She met her husband Michael at Oregon State University, where she completed a degree in education. Radine and Michael moved to Oahu, Hawaii, in 1970, where she worked as an elementary school teacher for over forty years.
Radine retired from teaching about 20 years ago. She loved babysitting her grandsons, who always looked forward to visiting and playing with Grandma. She was the backbone of the family and the main driving force behind family get-togethers on weekends and holidays. After retirement, Radine’s daring and enthusiastic nature led her to travel all over the world. She recently visited Egypt, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Austria. She was planning to travel to England, Norway, and India before she passed away. Her travel stories and photos were a source of so much joy for the entire family.
Radine was cremated in Honolulu. She will be laid to rest at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River. Our hearts are broken at Radine’s passing, and words cannot describe how deeply she is missed. Her memory will be treasured and she will remain a vital part of all of us for as long as we live. A celebration of life will take place in Honolulu Hawaii on Sept. 20.
