HOOD RIVER — Columbia Center for the Arts and Waucoma Bookstore have partnered to create the Gorge Book Festival, a new event from March 6-9, at Columbia Center for Arts, located 215 Cascade, Hood River. Events will include author readings, workshops, panel discussions, a local book fair and all-ages evening events.
The Festival opens March 6, with an interactive mystery event in the theater with authors Emmeline Duncan, Tina Connolly, and Tamara Berry.
Events continue all day March 7, with a writing workshop Kim Stafford, a gallery exhibit opening and book signings 5-7 p.m. featuring author and illustrator art, and “A night of laughs and chats with comedian and author Taylor Wolfe and singer and comedian Molly Schwarz” at 7:30 p.m. On March 8, “In Conversation” discussions between authors, including tina ontiveros; book readings, panels, an author luncheon, and book signings. The evening ends with “Willy Vlautin and poet Anis Morjgani” at 7:30 p.m.
On March 9, the festival offers a free local author and small press fair, workshops for local authors and would-be authors alike, an open mic poetry reading, and a children’s book reading with author Roseanne Parry.
