HOOD RIVER — John Boonstra will moderate a free public program Tuesday, Oct. 3 on how to “flip the switch” to electricity as a power source.
“Electrify Everything” will take place at Riverside Community Church, Fourth and State streets, from 6-8:30 p.m. A potato bar dinner will be served (donations requested).
“The event will be the perfect opportunity to engage experts on the topic of transitioning your energy use to electricity,” said a press release. “The program will help Gorge residents learn how to reduce emissions, lower utility costs and improve indoor air quality.”
Presenters include Brian Stewart of Electrify Now (electrifynow.net), and Scott Shurtleff of Electrify PDX (electrifypdx.org).
Columbia Gorge residents will also share from their efforts to decarbonize.
Other presenters include Lindsay McClure, energy and project manager, Mid-Columbia Economic Development District; and Eric Strid, Electrify Hood River Project, Columbia Gorge Climate Action Network and chair of the Hood River Energy Council.
