The Celilo Inn was damaged in a fire last week.

THE DALLES — A fire broke out at The Dalles’ Celilo Inn June 7, burning in the attic and touching at least two rooms, according to The Dalles Police media logs.
The call came at about 11:08 a.m., when smoke flowed out from inside a room. “Something exploding now, no flames, very dark smoke,” reads the log. A second caller saw flames on the roof. Employees left the building.
A drone was deployed to observe.
The fire was under control, and being mopped up, by 11:53 a.m. that day Investigators were attempting to determine how the fire started.
Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue, Dufur Volunteer Fire and Ambulance, Wy’East Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, Dallesport/Murdock Volunteer Fire Department, Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Northern Wasco County PUD, and The Dalles Police responded.
Hood River was also contacted for assistance, along with the Scenic Area.
A barn fire in Juniper Flats, on the same day, drew ODF and Wamic Rural Fire Protection District units.
